Birders take up an inordinate amount of the naturalist landscape. It is easy to see why: there are lots of them (the birds, not the naturalists), there are some beautiful birds, and all of them are interesting to watch. I’ve broken my birds out by species, as pulling out the raptors, the song birds, the ducks, woodpeckers and others is just too daunting for me right now. Maybe in my golden years. . .
