WORKSHOPS: drumming, percussion, professional development, team building, wellness strategies, goal setting, drum parties, private and group percussion lessons.
Raven is a facilitator, instructor, and entertainer currently living in Merritt BC. Raven has over 33 years of teaching experience and continues to share her knowledge with community groups and youth. She is the director of Raven Drum Connection and has been a volunteer in many community groups including Kamloops Retired Teachers, Two Rivers Metis, Kamloops Drum Connection, Merritt Drum Connection, NVCAC – Merritt. & Fast Eddy Cross Canada Run. Raven enjoys sharing skills that bring joy and resiliency and lift the body, mind, and spirit! Workshops can be 1 – 3 hr. or 2 sessions in a day.
Lessons or Gift Certificates Beginners to Int. Drum Lessons
You can get an intro. to the djembe for you or buy a gift certificate for someone. Come on Djembe Django and be Drum Circle Ready! First time Djembe Lessons $25 for 2 h. Lessons include djembe use, word document resource, ongoing review and support with Raven. Full Drum Ensemble, drum skills, and rhythms are provided. You’ll be ready to rock on your own or in a drum circle! Yabadaba Do!
RDC Online Appointment Times – am or pm 1.5 hours minimum
Raven is available for online lessons. Monday and Wed. evenings are open from 6:30 until 8, lessons are 1.5 h minimum. As well, the day times are available on most days. Please phone to book an online time. Prices may vary if there is more than one in your lesson group. Prices are one third the cost of a music store studio lesson. You get ongoing support with RDC and you will be successful. And the good news is, we get another drum buddy! See you soon. Raven 250 318 0963
ONLINE Lessons – Drum Django
Djembe Lessons Online – Skype, Zoom, Facetime are all options.
1.5 h $25 and 2 h $30. Music Store lessons are $20 min for a half hour. This one on one time is well worth the low fee and includes ongoing support. Lessons include djembe use if you are local, word document resource, ongoing support for review. Lessons include a Full Ensemble with many drum rhythms, drum skills, and easy learning strategies. Success is Easy! Everyone can drum.
Djembe Lessons for Committed Drummers and Band Members: – Reduced Price
There is a reduced price for Band Members or those committed to the weekly circle times. 1.5 to 2 hr. lessons are $20 for one person and $15 if you bring a drum buddy. It’s important to learn how to read the box notes so you can have access to the drumming resources on our private Facebook Group band page.
Drum Connection Workshop This theme introduces the djembe and your drumming relationship.
“Drum Connection” – A relationship with a drum is a journey to wellness. Learn how to play the drum and use it for your personal wellness. Includes: strategies for lifelong wellness, djembe skills, and plenty of rhythms to play with. You will be able to start that relationship with rhythm immediately and work with layered percussion rhythms and songs. Word documents included. Tadah! Drum roll please! Goals: To share the benefits of the drum, share percussion skills so you are knowledgeable and can share music skills with those under your care, or those you have the opportunity to work with. The goal is to have the drum become part of your life and wellness.
Drum Parties – Drum Circles – Adult Age Category
Djembe Parties – Group Drum Circle – Instruction, jammin’, games.
When gathering is available, a small party of guests can have a drum party time, the party includes djembe use, word document for later review, chairs if needed, and a specific theme can be requested, Facilitator Raven and Host will meet up ~ the details.
Rate is $15 per person for a minimum of 6 people
Team Building and Staff Development and Group Drum Circles
Loads of fun with the drum! Teambuilding is about building something as a team, recognizing the strengths in the group, and understanding that together is better. This is a creative, interactive drum circle workshop where the group works together to make music and recognizes the importance of differences and being a team. Workshop Time 1.5 to 3 h. Includes djembe, percussion skills, drum circle fun with team building language. Resources Included; planning mtg., word doc., and instruments. Raven develops the theme of the workshop to match the goals of the group. It’s a fun memory for all!
Raven Hosted Community Drum Circles – when gathering available
Circles go for 1.5 h. Djembe Rentals $5 per drum. Family rates always available. Circles include instruction and jammin’ time. Circles bring creativity, communication, and connection. Please reserve your drum ahead of time.
